YOU'RE INVITED
Welcome to the website for the Upper Long Cane church family!
Our calling is to joyfully
celebrate God's grace in Jesus Christ in all that we do. ULCPC is a welcoming Presbyterian community of faith
rooted in the earliest history of the Abbeville County area. We trust God in anticipating a bright
future for our congregation as we carry out the great ends of the Church.
Our worship is traditional and liturgical, rooted in the
classical forms of the Reformed tradition and the historic Christian faith.
Our services center around the evangelical proclamation, in Word and Sacrament, of
the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our mission is undertaken both locally through
involvement in several community ministries in the Abbeville-Greenwood-McCormick
area & globally through the worldwide mission of the PCUSA. Additionally, many of our members
individually support a wide variety of mission and service groups.
Our ministries include weekly Sunday School for children and
adults; older adult, women's and men's groups. Senior High Youth meet for
various events. The children of Upper Long Cane
meet regularly for catechism, theme-parties and events. The children's Sunday
School classes oversee the stocking of the church food pantry.

OUR MISSION
The Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church of Abbeville, South
Carolina, supports the Great
Ends of the Church.
We are a community of believers,
diversified in our thinking but united in our purpose.
We welcome into our congregation all persons who wish to worship and
be of service to God.
It is through God's grace and guidance that we grow in faith,
And as we grow in faith, we minister to the spiritual and physical needs
of each other and of our community.
Approved by the Session, May 20, 1998
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We are guided in our faith and practice by The
Holy
Bible as our supreme standard and authority. Our subordinate standards are
found in The Book of
Confessions. The Creeds and Confessions used by the PCUSA and Upper Long
Cane Presbyterian Church found in The Book of Confessions are: The Nicene
Creed; The Apostles' Creed; The Scot's Confession; The Heidelberg Catechism; The
Second Helvetic Confession of Faith; The Westminster Confession of Faith; The
Westminster Shorter Catechism; The Westminster Larger Catechism; The Theological
Declaration of Barmen; The Confession of 1967 and The Brief Statement of
Faith. Additional guidance, though not a confessional standard, may be found
in The
PCUSA Study Catechism.

From Due West - Go to Abbeville, taking Hwy. 20. The church
will be on your left, prior to entering the city limits. If you go to the 'Fast

your left.
From Hwy. 28 - If you come from 71 or are taking the 28 by-pass
around Abbeville, take a right off of the 28 by-pass as though you are turning
to go toward the city of Abbeville (pulling off the bypass onto Hwy. 20) The church will be on your immediate left.
If you need driving directions, you are welcome to call the
church during the week or Sunday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM.
